MD Properties was established in 1992 by Robert and Diane Macfarlane.
Our Managing Director, Izabela Soszynska-Opryszek, joined MD Properties in 2010 after completing her Master’s degree. Over the years, Izabela gained extensive knowledge and experience in all areas of the business — from lettings and management to operations and client relations.
In 2016, Izabela became a shareholder, bringing a fresh vision and energy to the company. She modernised the office, streamlined internal procedures, and introduced innovative systems that improved efficiency and enhanced customer service.
Her personal approach, dedication, and hands-on management style have helped MD Properties stand apart from larger corporate agencies. Under her leadership, the company has tripled its client base and continued to grow steadily. Izabela ensures the company provides personalised approach and service. She is also fluent in English and Polish.
In response to customer demand, MD Properties expanded its services to include property sales at the end of 2025, further strengthening our ability to meet all property needs under one roof.
Our Experience and Affiliations
Robert served for ten years as Chairman of the Sandwell Landlord’s Association, advising on housing policy and regeneration initiatives. He was also a founding member of the Midlands Landlords Association (MLA), which later became part of the National Residential Landlords Association (NRLA). Both Robert and Izabela remain active members.
With over 50 years of combined experience, both as property professionals and landlords, Robert and Izabela bring deep industry insight and practical expertise to every aspect of the business.

A Tribute to Diane
In 2006, after a short illness, Diane sadly passed away. MD Properties would not be where it is today without her dedication and hard work. She is, and always will be, fondly remembered and deeply missed.
Our dedicated team includes management, Maintenance Coordinators, Lettings Assistants, Account Administrator, Office Administrator, and our Viewings and Inspections Team. Operating from Stafford – town centre based office, we ensure seamless communication, efficient problem-solving, and consistently high standards of service and support for our clients.
We also work closely with a local trusted group of contractors who handle property maintenance, supported by qualified gas and electrical engineers.
Izabela has worked in every department at MD Properties before becoming Managing Director. With a wealth of knowledge of the industry and properties within the local area she will ensure that your property is valued competitively.The Company has grown as she works effortlessly to provide a professional yet personal service.
Having taken a back seat from the day to day I am always available to offer my support and advice. I am proud to say Izabela has taken the business to the next level ably supported by our excellent team.
Office Manager Nicola oversees the day to day running and is always happy to help and offer advice to any new or current landlords. With her ARLA accreditation she has extensive knowledge and experience in the Lettings Industry.
Looking for a new property to live, Isabell is our Letting Negotiator. She is responsible for booking viewings, reserving properties, referencing through to issuing contracts and moving you in.
Emma manages the full lifecycle of tenancy check-ins and checkouts, overseeing everything from preparing and conducting detailed inventories to handling all aspects of deposit processing. This includes documenting meter readings and room conditions, ensuring compliance checks such as smoke and carbon monoxide detector testing, and producing accurate inventory and checkout reports. I also calculate deposit deductions, communicating outcomes to tenants and landlords, ensuring a smooth, transparent, and compliant transition between tenancies.
Iwona is responsible for all aspects of the accounts, allocating rent payments to the correct accounts and paying landlords.
Leila carries out thorough property inspections to ensure every home we manage is well-maintained and presented to a high standard. She also oversees all compliance requirements, making sure our properties meet legal obligations and remain safe for our customers.
