MD Properties was established in 1992 by Robert and Diane Macfarlane, with a commitment to providing a professional, personal and reliable property service.
Our Managing Director, Izabela Soszynska-Opryszek, joined MD Properties in 2010 after completing her Master’s degree. Over the years, Izabela has gained extensive knowledge and experience across all areas of the business, from lettings and property management to operations and client relations.
In 2016, Izabela became a shareholder, bringing fresh vision, ambition and energy to the company. She modernised the business, streamlined internal procedures and introduced innovative systems that improved efficiency and enhanced the service provided to our clients.
Another significant milestone came in 2024, when MD Properties relocated to its Mill Street offices. The move provided the company with a stronger base from which to continue developing and expanding its services and has played an important role in the continued growth of the business.
Izabela’s personal approach, dedication and hands-on management style have helped MD Properties stand apart from larger corporate agencies. Under her leadership, the company has tripled its client base while continuing to maintain the personal service and attention to detail on which MD Properties has built its reputation.
Despite the continued growth of the business, Izabela remains committed to ensuring every client receives a personal, approachable and professional service. She is also fluent in both English and Polish, enabling MD Properties to provide additional support to Polish-speaking clients.
Expanding into Property Sales
At the end of 2025, in response to growing customer demand, MD Properties expanded its services to include residential property sales.
In 2026, we officially opened our dedicated Sales Department, which has quickly become a thriving and successful part of the business. This latest expansion allows us to support clients throughout their entire property journey, whether they are letting, renting, selling, buying or investing.
Together with our long-established lettings and property management services, our growing Sales Department enables MD Properties to offer a comprehensive property service all under one roof.
Our Experience and Affiliations
Robert served for ten years as Chairman of the Sandwell Landlords Association, advising on housing policy and regeneration initiatives. He was also a founding member of the Midlands Landlords Association (MLA), which later became part of the National Residential Landlords Association (NRLA). Both Robert and Izabela remain active members.
With over 50 years of combined experience, both as property professionals and landlords themselves, Robert and Izabela bring extensive industry knowledge and practical, first-hand expertise to every aspect of the business.

A Tribute to Diane
In 2006, following a short illness, Diane sadly passed away.
MD Properties would not be where it is today without Diane’s dedication, commitment and hard work in establishing and developing the business alongside Robert.
Her contribution remains an important part of the history and foundations of MD Properties. She is, and always will be, fondly remembered and deeply missed.
Our dedicated team includes management, Maintenance Coordinators, Lettings Assistants, Account Administrator, Office Administrator, and our Viewings and Inspections Team. Operating from Stafford – town centre based office, we ensure seamless communication, efficient problem-solving, and consistently high standards of service and support for our clients.
We also work closely with a local trusted group of contractors who handle property maintenance, supported by qualified gas and electrical engineers.
Izabela has worked in every department at MD Properties before becoming Managing Director. With a wealth of knowledge of the industry and properties within the local area she will ensure that your property is valued competitively.The Company has grown as she works effortlessly to provide a professional yet personal service.
Having taken a back seat from the day to day I am always available to offer my support and advice. I am proud to say Izabela has taken the business to the next level ably supported by our excellent team.
Office Manager Nicola oversees the day to day running and is always happy to help and offer advice to any new or current landlords. With her ARLA accreditation she has extensive knowledge and experience in the Lettings Industry.
